EID Tags^®

Electronic ID tags are used for animal identification and traceability. Each “button” tag has a unique 15-digit number printed on it that can be read with an EID reader. An EID tag can be used with herd management software or to comply with state and national breed programs.

Official 840 USDA tags are a source of animal identification compliant with animal traceability requirements between federal, state and industry officials. Tags are tamperproof and printed with a unique 15-digit ID number. A valid premise ID is required when ordering. Premise ID registration can be completed with your state animal health agency. 840 tags can be utilized only in the United States. All tag numbers allocated will be uploaded to the Animal Identification Management System managed by USDA Veterinary Services.
